Primal Digital and The Residents

The Residents Demons Dance Alone
Live at the Warsaw in Brooklyn, New York.
In November of 2002, Julian Lauzzana recorded three nights of live performance by The Residents during their "Demons Dance Alone"(DDA) tour, with the help of long time collaborator Isaac Peachin, during thEYEr "Demons Dance Alone" tour. This involved bringing Primal Digital's mothership rig, which at the time was an Apple G4, ProTools DIGI 001, a couple mixers and various cables and adapters for pulling tracks to record off the monitor mix backstage. The rig was set up on top of a baby grand piano, for 14 tracks of simultaneous recording, including: vocal and room mics, and direct feed from the instruments allowing for immense flexibility in the mix. This audio was used for The Residents DDA DVD (seen above). Lauzzana also mixed one track - "Wolverines" - for a compilation CD entitled "Absolutely Live" (seen below).

Lauzzana also had Homer Flynn and Hardy Fox
of The Cryptic Corporation by the studio while they were in the area.
Although we were not able to get The Residents to come by for a performance,
having Hardy and Homer by the studio (along with Steven Cerio) was a rare and primal moment. (It WAS wonderful)

Julian Lauzzana also had his neighbor, the Joey the Ice Man (Ice Fantasies), carve an eyeball head out of ice for the final show on November 15th, which was put on display in the bar area at the Warsaw Theatre in Greenpointe, Brooklyn.
